Meet the Founder

Kofi Aggrey
Director
Results-driven mining consultant, and researcher with over 15 years of experience in mining regulation, environmental assessment, ESG compliance, and sustainable resource management. My career spans regulatory, consulting, and academic roles, including experience with the Minerals Commission of Ghana, Aggrey & Associates Ltd., and the University of Liverpool.
I have contributed to mining project evaluation, feasibility studies, environmental and social governance (ESG) monitoring, regulatory compliance, and the integration of environmental and public health considerations into mining impact assessments. As Founder and Managing Director of Aggrey & Associates Ltd., I advise mining companies, investors, and service providers on mining project development, permitting, ESG performance, local content implementation, and mine support services.
Currently, I serve as a Research Associate and Demonstrator at the University of Liverpool, where I contribute to teaching and research in Environmental Assessment and Management. My research focuses on Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), environmental governance, sustainable mining, and resource management, including a high-profile study examining the environmental and socio-economic implications of gene-drive technologies for malaria control in West Africa. Research from this work was presented at the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) Annual Conference.
I have also delivered guest lectures at McGill University on mining sustainability and artisanal and small-scale mining in Ghana and continue to support postgraduate teaching in environmental planning, environmental management, and business-environment interactions. I am committed to advancing responsible mining, environmental stewardship, and sustainable resource development.
